I grew up as an Air Force kid, moving around the U.S. every few years and attending non-denominational Christian churches. I became a Lutheran during my freshman year of college at Grace Lutheran Church in Muncie, IN. After growing up in a church where "works" or behaving in a certain fashion was how you earned your way to heaven, the idea of being justified by grace alone through faith alone for the sake of Christ alone, a truth revealed to us in Scripture alone, was exactly what I was searching for and still wholeheartedly believe today.
My husband, Alvin, and I have been members of King of Kings since 2013. Throughout my time here, I have served as the Lay Minister of Missions, Stephen Minister, Greeter, Sunday School teacher, Life Group Leader, Scripture Reader, and Altar Guild Member. I am currently in my fourth year as the Lay Minister of Child Development. Over the last four years, I have had the pleasure of supporting King of King's DCE, Kenzie Brown, in all the children's activities, and also have had the honor of watching our kids grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Outside of church, I have a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. I have worked as a Psychometrist, conducting neuropsychological and psychological testing on people aged 6 and above for the last 26 years. In the fall of 2025, I entered the Online Deaconess Studies Program at Concordia Seminary St. Louis and started my Deaconess Internship at King of Kings. I am also the mom, master schedule keeper, and chauffeur to our busy elementary-aged daughter as she lives her best life.
